When looking at most of the content in your industry, you’ll likely notice patterns and repetition: the same topics, similar headlines, copycat messaging, and familiar advice… YAWN, it’s so boring!

Personally, for me, there’s nothing worse than going on Instagram and seeing the same trend on repeat with different faces. I literally can’t bear to see it! 

So instead of following the well-worn copy-cat path, why not try creating content that goes against the grain and stands out!

The most successful entrepreneurs are creating content that disrupts the narrative by bringing their fresh & new perspectives or opinions to familiar challenges.

You’re probably thinking, “ok, but there are very few topics/concepts that are new, how am I supposed to stand out?” – This is where your unique voice, values, and opinions come in!!

Consider this: While most social media experts are using a generic “textbook” digital marketing strategy by posting tips or problem-solving content such as “5 hooks that will help you go viral” or “Why you’re content isn’t resonating with your ideal audience” – taking a standout approach or addressing a topic that isn’t as widely discussed in your own way is going to get interest… because it’s different!

For example: You could discuss the concept of passive consumption – explaining how most of your audience won’t visibly engage with your content, but are still watching and may eventually become clients. This perspective challenged conventional wisdom about engagement metrics being the ultimate measure of success.

Standing out isn’t about being controversial for controversy’s sake – it’s about sharing your genuine perspective in a way that resonates with your ideal clients. When you can articulate problems and solutions in a way that makes people think, “Yes! That’s exactly what I’ve been feeling but couldn’t express,” you become relatable, and that is exactly what is going to make your content marketing magnetic.
